A document listed in the capture inbox shows an OCR status of not started

Note: This applies to DocuShare Flex – Capture.

Issue

A document listed in the Capture Inbox shows an OCR Status of Not Started.

Solution

1. Verify it is a supported image type or PDF.

Note: The following image formats are supported with OCR gif, .jpg, .png, .tif and .pdf.

2. If it is a supported file format such as a .pdf file, check to see if it is password protected.

Note: An Office Document can be viewed in Document Viewer even though it is not a supported OCR image format. However, you cannot add properties to the documents (called indexing) using methods such as: click a word, draw a rectangle around a phrase, or enter a value to automatically fill other property values from a database since the Document is not OCRed.
