DocuShare displays numbers or characters instead of the expected icons

Issue

When viewing the DocuShare web interface in Internet Explorer the icons are not displayed properly. Instead of seeing the expected icons you see strange characters or numbers.

Solution

The icons in Docushare are fonts so Internet Explorer needs to have font download option enabled.

From Internet Explorer Internet Options:

1.     Select the Security tab.

2.     Select the zone DocuShare resides in such as “Trusted Sites”.

3.     Click the Custom Level button to change Settings

4.     Under the Downloads section. Under Font download select Enable.

5.     Click OK settings.

6.     This may require a restart of Internet Explorer to take effect.
