Scanned Documents Do Not Inherit Permissions
Problem
Scanned
documents do not inherit permissions.
Issue
When
using the direct scan service (SMB/FTP) into DocuShare, all scanned documents
fail to inherit the permissions defined on the collection where they arrive.
This applies to any collection, not just the temporary scan repository.
Solution
This
is working as designed.
As a
security feature, only the Site and Content Administrators groups are granted
read/write/manage access to the scanned documents.
Workarounds
Option
1: Grant read only access to all
users except guest.
a. Log
in as admin.
b. Click
Admin Home | Services & Components |
Scan. The Scan Setup page displays.
c. Enable
allow ready only access.
d. Click
Save.
Option
2: Use a scan cover sheet.
Note: This requires enabling the use of Glyphscan
Cover Sheet option in DocuShare.
Option
3: Add the user that requires
write/manage access to the scanned documents to the Content Admin group.
Option
4: Create a new content intake
instance. Use the same Target Collection
handle as the temporary scan repository but configure it to use a different
watch directory than what is used on the Scan configuration page.
