How To Plan for an Upgrade of DocuShare
Note: This Solution is for anyone that is planning an upgrade DocuShare from a prior version after hours and overnight.
1. Verify that the server hardware and software meets the DocuShare System Requirements.
Note: Before installing or upgrading, go to http://docushare.xerox.com/products/systemreqs/en/ for the latest system requirements.
2. Review the upgrade procedure documentation.
Note: If you are upgrading to DocuShare 6.6.1 from a previous version of DocuShare you should review the How To Upgrade To DocuShare 6.6.1 64 bit From A Previous Version of 32 bit DocuShare Knowledge Base link listed at the bottom of this page.
Note: DocuShare Customer Support can be reached at 1-800-835-9013 if you require any additional information or would like to dicuss the upgrade path options based on the version of DocuShare that you are currently running.
3. Contact the licensing department before upgrading.
Note: The DocuShare Licensing Department is only available Mon-Fri 8-5 (PST). They are also closed on weekends and holidays. You must obtain an Installation ID if you wish to obtain a license sting using our web form during off hours.
Warning: The DocuShare technical support team cannot create new license keys for upgrades. The technical support team can only issue temporary keys for same version of DocuShare. For example: restored sites due to disaster recovery.
If you are planning an upgrade in the near future:
· Contact the Licensing Department via email at firstname.lastname@example.org at least 2 business days prior to preforming the upgrade.
The email must contain the following:
Note: Before contacting licensing you must have a valid support contact. If you do not have a valid support contract contact DocuShare Sales at 1-800-735-7749.
o Information on the version of DocuShare you will be upgrading to and when the upgrade will be taking place.
o Your current DocuShare Host ID / Server ID.

o Company and Address.
o Site ID (if you have it).
· The licensing department will issue an Installation ID that will be required in the DocuShare License Request web form after installing and/or upgrading DocuShare. The DocuShare web form can be used to generate a new License key.
The DocuShare License Request web form can be found here:
You must have the following information for the web form:
· Company ID
· Installation ID
· DocuShare Version (x.x)
· Sever/Host ID
