Caller is not allowed to create this level of user error is displayed when trying to add an Active Directory User in DocuShare
Note:
This applies to DocuShare 6.6.1 and
above.
Issue
The following error is displayed when trying
to add Active Directory (AD) Users to DocuShare.
com.xerox.docushare.DSException: Caller is not
allowed to create this level of user: dsLimited at com.xerox.docushare.impl.server.BackendSessionImpl.createUser(BackendSessionImpl.java:5041)
at
com.xerox.docushare.impl.server.BackendSessionImpl.createUser(BackendSessionImpl.java:4940)
at com.xerox.docushare.directory.impl.DirectoryServerLDAPImpl._createExternalDsPrincipal(DirectoryServerLDAPImpl.java:944)

Reason
\ Possible Cause
The default User Level for DocuShare has been
set incorrectly.
Solution
1. Select
Admin Home | Object Properties | User. The User – Property Values displays.
2. Click
the Edit button next to User Level. The Edit User Menu Property page displays.
3. Next
to Default Value verify that the
User level is correctly set to one of the following:

Minimum
: Read-Only
·
dsFull
: DocuShare
·
cpx
: CPX
Note: It should not be set to dsLimited.
4. Click
the Update button.
5. Select
Update Properties from the Object
Properties menu.
6. Click
the Submit button.
7. Try
adding an Active Directory User again in DocuShare.
