WNet Error 1 is displayed when attempting to map to DocuShare with DSDrive

Issue

DocuShare Drive does not allow users to map the DocuShare site using a URL with server name instead of the IP address of the DocuShare Server.

Note:  The Site is accessible through the Browser using the same URL which is rejected by DocuShare Drive.

The following is the error message is displayed when tried to map the site using the server name with the DocuShare Drive.

DocuShare Drive window is displayed with the following error:

An error was encountered.  The DocuShare server could not be mounted as a network drive.

Drive: O:

Network address:\\Docusharetest\DocuShare

WNet error 1

Reason/ Possible Cause

This issue can happen if the DNS Server is not able to resolve the DocuShare server’s name.

Solution

Use the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) in the URL instead.

Example:

Http://Docusharetest/Docushare - Incorrect.

Http://Docusharetest.local/Docushare - Correct
