What is the purpose of the Disable Synchronization user property?
The Disable Synchronization property is
displayed instead of Read Only for the user object in the Admin UI once the
DocuShare server connects to an LDAP server. The property
is used to disable the ability to synchronize DocuShare properties with their
corresponding LDAP attributes. For example, Email, Phone, Last name, First
name, etc.
When
Disable Synchronization is set to No, DocuShare allows the LDAP service to
synchronize the property. If the email address information is changed on the
LDAP server and synchronization is triggered (either by user login or by the
site administrator), the User’s email will be updated with the new value.
When
Disable Synchronization is set to Yes, DocuShare does not allow the LDAP
service to synchronize the property. If the email address information is
changed on the LDAP server and synchronization is triggered (either by user
login or by the site administrator), the User’s email will remain the same and not
be updated with the new value.
